Book wanted: Scannerini & Savarino, "The Turin Shroud: Past, Present and Future" (2000)

I today (4th February 2013) finally hold in my hand this rare book which I have long sought! What's more it appears to be as new, to have never been read. Praise to Him whose image He caused to be imprinted on His Shroud!

I have for a long time been trying, but without success, to buy the

book, Scannerini, S. & Savarino, P., eds, "The Turin Shroud: Past, Present and Future," International Scientific Symposium, Torino 2-5 March 2000: Effatà: Cantalupe, Italy.

Effatà Editrice has it on its website but I cannot understand Italian to work out how to buy it (if indeed it can be bought from them). Besides Effatà Editrice replied to my email that they don't post books to Australia, and thereafter has ignored my subsequent emails.

I have also tried Internet book searches, including Advanced Book Exchange, Amazon.com, BookFinder, and eBay, but all these to date have drawn a blank.

So if anyone knows where or how this book can be bought, whether new or second hand, could they please indicate it in a comment to this post below? Thanks.

Dear Stephen,

I have sent Effata Editrice a message asking whether they are selling this book and, if so, whether they would ship it to the United States. If the answers to both those questions are affirmative, then I would be happy to purchase it from them on your behalf and ship it to you from here once it arrives.

Thank you very much. I will of course reimburse you for all the costs of the book, shipping to the US, and then shipping it from the US to Australia.

At the worst your kind action should clarify if Effata Editrice still stocks the book.

Stephen,

I'm sorry to report that I've heard nothing yet from Effata Editrice in response to my query about the book. I will of course let you know if and when I do receive an answer.

Best regards,

Thanks again for trying. At least I now know it is not just me they are ignoring!

Thanks. I only found out about it last night on Shroud of Turin Blog.

I ordered my copy from Amazon.com which was the same price as Barnes and Noble's.

I will probably post about Wilcox's book tonight.
